Trocchi’s book subverts all of this. Once a junkie always a junkie. I would say it was just alright. Show 25 25 50 All. Many people praise the language and his power of description, which This book is supposed to be something of a cult novel about drug addiction, but Boook must say I don’t see the appeal.
He drifts, and these parts of the book bracketed by the onshore world of copping, shooting, negotiating, copping, shooting, become strangely beautiful.
Here there was the energy of a piece of pocket lint.

When he thought of it he thought of destiny and he felt himself without will. Completely unorthadox in every way! You can help Wikipedia by expanding it. Trocchi as I say was a master con artist who by this time had burned half a dozen publishers for advances but not Seaver over at Grove, who knew his can and kept him on a short leash.
Although billed as the British counterpart to Burroughs’ Junky, the book suffers from the comparison.
