Through his compelling and highly readable account, you’ll encounter mind-stretching discoveries from cosmology, cellular biology, DNA research, astronomy, physics, and human consciousness that present astonishing evidence in Stroobel Case for a Creator. How this book has maintained any serious consideration baffles me.
So there’s some good information here, if you’re willing srobel put up with some irritating writing to get at it. If one grants that sincerity then Strobel is displaying a large dose of believence credulousness. Now, I believe that Jesus is the Messiah, and I accept Strobel Every once in a while there are true crime books written by the defense team of the accused, presenting the case for their cwso innocence, but which in fact only present a one-sided view that is easily refuted if one has the full range of evidence.
As a work of apologetics, this book is very lacking. Was it in a hasty attempt to convert himself to Christianity so he could understand and appe I completely appreciate Lee Strobel’s approach to investigating the truths within Christianity contrasting Mere Christianity by CS Lewis.
But in this book, where they discuss the appearances of the resurrected Jesus, Jesus doesn’t just appear to the apostles and those who already believed, but also to random people on the street, and more specifically to people who were skeptical or downright nonbelievers while Jesus was alive.
In the Case for Faith, this was the entire reasoning for the existence of Hell – that Hell wasn’t some awful, burning torture zone, it was just the place where God wasn’t, a total separation from you and God never mind the question of how that’s possible, since God is supposed to be all things, that whole Omnipresent, sustainer of creation, bit.

I cant see it drawing them closer to God. He is not worth reading. One of the examples one of the scholars gives to Strobel about why the Bible is true, deals with the book of John in the new testament.
But those with unclouded reason will recognize the quick insufficiency of Strobel’s conclusions. While “hard questions” were asked, the evidence and arguments creadoor those “hard questions” were never presented beyond an attribution to the atheist who it was cribbed from let alone given equal space like in a court room.

Too many people look at the reward system of Christianity and not the relationship with Jesus. But despite his constant self-congratulating in the book, he doesn’t make a good argument that it’s highly logical based on the evidence.
In any case, well written, but not convincing. I think Strobel’s topic was too broad. One such would be Jesus’ brother, James, to whom Jesus is supposed to have appeared, so that thereafter James was a lifelong believer who died because of his faith.
Just like the Iliad by Homer was preserved for thousands of years, it does not increase the validity of the story. I guess, too, when you already believe that Jesus Christ is your Savior, you find yourself reading these case studies and thinking, “But I already knew that in my heart to be true I’m never a fan of an author assuming that one has done all his homework before picking up a book like this so I found that to be an area where there was room for improvement.
This is great news for skeptics! Representing both sides of any argument is vital not only in a legal setting, but in journalism especially. He played the role himself, asking tough questions from an atheist’s point of view. Was it in a hasty attempt to convert himself to Christianity so he could understand and appease with his wife’s conversion and likewise gain the same bliss ful ignorance?
I think that if you pick up and read a book with a title like The Case for Christ, you probably have an open mind to Christianity, so it was all the more disappointing that this wasn’t well-done.

I’m skeptical that Lee Strobel was ever a non-believer. That kind of ad hominem makes me suspicious that a certain lack of substance is being disguised. It was xaso tough read For me, reading about physics has taken me further in believing in difficult-to-believe phenomena than this book has.
Strobel appears to take on a skeptical role but his acceptance–hook, line and sinker–of poor or speculative explanations stdobel everything from the existence of Jesus to the question of divinity makes one wonder about the sincerity of his effort.
This was a pretty decent piece of newspaper-style investigation on Christ. Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. She hasn’t has she? He doesn’t acknowledge that creacor in some of the more important topics particularly weakens the entire structure of his argument.
